|
| Brita Linius is born in 1949 and relatively late she started her artistic career. For several years, the artist studied with Lecturer in Art, Kurt Smith and painter Vibeke Jorgensen, and during these studies Brita Linius slowly turned her interest in the direction of still-life paintings with its countless variations. |
In order to accentuate the
material, Brita Linius developed her own technique, AcrylicCollage on
canvas. This technique makes it possible for her to work out a three- dimensional surface on the canvas where many fine details are
seen. Details, which, unfortunately, can't be fully enjoyed on a computer monitor.
Every painting is going through a long and punctilious process where the canvas is worked out in every little
detail. Several layers of paper have been mounted on the surface, painted with many layers of vibrant
colors. |

Brita Linius |
As Danish painters from the 18th and 19th
century, Brita Linius often travels to Italy on study tours. This is clearly seen in her still life
paintings where
flowers, fruits, jar and "amphora's" are dominating. However, the Nordic coolness is still present in her
paintings.
Brita Linius decorates and exhibit in companies and galleries in Denmark
and she has sold her art works to private collectors in the USA, Canada, Holland and
Sweden. Furthermore, reputable fine art publishers are representing Brita Linius in North America where her works also are printed as fine art posters and gicleé prints.
Copenhagen Art Gallery represents Brita Linius in Denmark.
